Company Profile
The products listed in the ACS catalog have been or are in the process of being engineered by Penta Design Solutions, an engineering firm whose personnel have decades of experience in designing metal connectors. 

Penta Design Solutions was created to provide metal connector manufacturers with the necessary design and specifications to manufacture engineered, tested, and code approved structural connectors for the wood construction industry.

Our services included:
  • Structural design of metal connectors
  • Latest NDS load calculations
  • Product testing to the latest code standards
  • Code approval listing of many standard industry products (Code Approvals)
  • Sealed engineering for special custom connectors
  •  Development of an ICC-ES approved quality control program for manufacturers

  • Technical support service for building officials and engineering inquiries

Our mission is to provide engineers, architects, and builders with a fast and economical alternative to the standard products and design connectors for special applications as needed on construction projects.

Mark Jensen

Mark has been designing, developing, testing, and obtaining code approvals on metal connectors for the past 32 years. He has developed, tested, and obtained code approval on many of the products used in the industry today. He is the inventor of the patented BOSS system and innovated the hanger industry in 1989 with the first connectors designed to be installed with pneumatic nail guns.

Scott is currently a professional structural engineer and partner with Wright Engineers. As a member of the TruSpec team, Scott reviews and advises on the structural integrity and load applications for the products being developed by TruSpec Engineering. Scott has been involved in the testing and load calculations of metal connectors and has worked in the engineering specification industry for the past 19 years.

Product Design
A.S. Computer Aided Design

Nate has an associate degree in CAD design. He has 8 years of experience designing and manufacturing structural metal connectors using his CAD/CAM skills and can make almost any product on computerized punch presses and brakes. With his math and computer experience he has developed detailed spreadsheets for the fast and efficient calculation of load values using the latest NDS criteria.
